Carriages and Carriage Parts - Rated by the blade carriage hoisting capability, there are four sizings of hook type tine carriages. The hook type tine carriages have been standardized.
The carriage bar spacing used for Class 1 is about thirteen inches and the Class 1 carriage is rated to hold cargo up to 2000lbs. The Class 2 carriage is rated to hold cargo as much as 5,500lbs with carriage bar spacing of 16 inches. Class III carriages are rated for cargo up to 10,000 lbs. The carriage bar spacing for this particular class is 20 inches. Class IV carriages are rated for cargo as much as 15,500 lbs. The carriage bar spacing used for this capacity is twenty five inches.
The carriages for pin type forks can be different depending on the manufacturer. Pin mounted forks could differ by the amount of offset between the fork eye and the tine. Carriage capacity will be determined by the carriage pin size and by the tine size.
